How about a piece how the internet has changed how people view "amatuer" porn versus "mainstream" porn?

This entry has to be based strictly on observation and opinion.

I think the internet has done wonderful things for amateur porn. Before the internet people had to go out and purchase porn at stores, news stands, by subscription etc. These things were of course embarrassing for some. The internet came around and made it MUCH easier to access porn. Most of the content distributed before the internet was of "professional" models. The perfect women. The porn stars.

What I've come to find in my not so old age is that not all men want to play with life sized Barbie and Skipper. In come the BBWs and Plump pretties. BBWs can be considered another extreme, where you have the pretty playmates with perfect bodies you also have the large women who are beautiful as well and become "professional" models. They pose for magazines but have "size requirements" etc. What about the in between, the everyday girl, the girl who doesn't fit a specific fetish, the one who doesn't think she can make it as a "professional" because she's too big or too small or just doesn't have the confidence to pose in front of photographers.

A girl... like ME! :)

Welcome to the internet, where anyone can be a star. You can be a star for singing badly, for having a tantrum, for being a cute animal with a silly catch phrase associated with your image... the list goes on, as long as it's captured on film.

The internet gave birth to home made websites and webcams. These things put together allowed people of any type to expose themselves to the world. Since not every person wants to play with Barbie and Skipper all the time these new "amateurs" on the internet attracted attention of many web porn surfers. They see these amateurs as the girl or guy next door. And it's true. Many are! :) It allows people to fantasize about that girl at the check out line or the babysitter or whoever they want.

These new stay at home moms, girls next door... have become the new stars of the internet and many move on to be in professional porn like magazines and dvds published by the big names where others may be a little too shy and like to stay right where they are on their webcams and websites where a handful of porn surfers will find them and become long time fans.

I love the internet.
